As 2018 comes to a close, the team has come together to share some memorable moments and challenges from throughout the year, and each discuss what they think may lay ahead for 2019…

Did you know? According to the Astrology Club, 2019 is also a year of endings and a time to be bringing things to completion, rather than new beginnings.

Dave Ingle – Director:
Achievements
“The growth in skill and capabilities the team has developed this year within the areas of marketing automation, content development and analysis.”

Challenges
“Overcoming what I call the ‘uncertainty complex’ by which I mean the paralysis some people had hesitating on making decisions, whether it was GDPR, the oil price, North Korea or Brexit.”

What do you think is ahead for 2019?
“It will be the year of ‘The speed of instant’; we are so connected and consume information at phenomenal rates and as marketers we need to be aware of that change and become more agile in delivering activities for clients.”

Melanie Bright – Senior Account Manager:
Achievements
“My biggest achievement this year has been my venture into new business and sales. As a marketer through and through it has been quite an experience to be at the front end of things. It has given me a new-found respect for all those sales teams out there! Still early days for me however I have made some good contacts and hopefully I will be having the opportunity to support their marketing efforts in 2019.”

Challenges
“Probably also connected to my answer below. The rapid pace of new technologies marketers face and understanding which will best fit their business.”

What do you think is ahead for 2019?
“The marketing industry is going through a rapid transformation and I see 2019 being no different!   Almost daily marketers are being introduced to the latest, ‘whizz bang’, data driven, software-based marketing tactic! I believe we must navigate our clients through these new and exciting opportunities and help them make informed decisions about the right tactics for their company.”

Dawn White – Account Manager:
Achievements
“One of my biggest achievements this year was organising Yokogawa Test and Measurement division’s WT5000 product launch. The event took place at the Covent Garden Hotel in September and attracted a great number of editors from across Europe and produced some excellent front page and feature article coverage.”

Challenges
“Finding the right opportunities to give clients the best possible ROIs.”

What do you think is ahead for 2019?
“Meeting client expectations of integrated campaign planning across multiple channels and better ROI, which the Napier four step approach has been designed to do.”

Taylor Green – Marketing Specialist:
Achievements
“I would say one of my biggest achievements this year would be completing my CIM course. After many hours of studying and writing assignments it feels great to have the certificate to show for it, and be able to apply what I’ve learnt at college into client projects!”

Challenges
“I’ve been getting more involved with HTML coding this year and working with clients to develop their email campaigns. I first started exploring coding in 2016 and first found the concept difficult to grasp with all the different elements. Although a challenge, I’ve been able to spend some time developing those skills and putting it into practice.”

What do you think is ahead for 2019?
“We’re increasingly seeing more of our clients looking to explore and implement new methods to reach their target customers. I think 2019 will be the year to get to best out of our marketing automation platforms. I also hope to begin a new course with the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the new year, and bring more of the theory I learn to life”.
