I am already almost a year into my CIM ‘Certificate in Professional Marketing’ qualification. So far, I have completed 2 of the 3 modules and couldn’t be happier with how it is going. Just the other week I received an email congratulating me on a Distinction, following an exam I took back in December. The examination included elements of the marketing mix, customer behaviour, branding and much more. I am delighted with the result.
Following my Apprenticeship last year, Napier offered me the opportunity to complete this CIM course to help expand my marketing knowledge. You can read more about the process here in one of my previous blogs.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is a qualifications provider which is accredited by the European Marketing Confederation. The qualification allows students to study alongside their current job role, applying scenarios from their workplace into elements of coursework and examinations. I find this method of working beneficial as not only does it help my understanding using real-life examples, but helps me to analyse work with clients at Peter Bush Communications more deeply.
Since my enrolment, I have been able to bring what I have learnt at college to my desk in the office. Learning the importance of understanding customer behaviour and loyalty has allowed me to appreciate the long-term clients PBC has maintained over the many years.
I have also found that learning more about the marketing mix and what clients desire from an agency has enabled me to work closer with the team to help deliver various successful marketing campaigns.
Studying at the Cambridge Marketing College has been great so far, it’s clear that all tutors are passionate about each topic and are driven to share their knowledge with the students. I also find it interesting to see how others plan to put what they learn into action at their workplace.
I am now beginning to write up my assignment for my third and final module- Integrated Communications. After receiving a Distinction in the Marketing exam, I am confident that I will be able to complete the qualification ending on a high.
